The karnali can be reached from surkhet in a day long trek. Porters carry all the expedition through beautiful and remote country to the "put- in" point.The first day on the river includes some of the best white-water to be found in the world between grade 3-5.
The rapids follow very closely together and the river goes through some spectacular gorges with many steep rapids, the scenery is spectacular unspoiled wilderness. At the end of the trip the rapids become less difficult which gives time to relax.
