Trek through the heart of the Khumbu to Everest Base Camp, passing Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries and the dramatic Khumbu Glacier. Summit Kala Patthar (5,545m) for the finest sunrise view of Everest.

Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Airport transfer, trek briefing and gear check.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,652m)

Scenic mountain flight then an easy walk along the Dudh Koshi.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Cross suspension bridges and enter Sagarmatha National Park.

Day 4: Acclimatisation day in Namche

Hike to the Everest View Hotel; rest and adapt.

Day 5: Namche to Tengboche (3,860m)

Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery with Ama Dablam views.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m)

Trek above the treeline into alpine terrain.

Day 7: Acclimatisation day in Dingboche

Hike to Nangkartshang for sweeping Himalayan views.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)

Pass memorials to fallen climbers along the moraine.

Day 9: Lobuche to Gorak Shep, EBC (5,364m)

Reach Everest Base Camp, the trek's ultimate goal.

Day 10: Kala Patthar (5,545m), down to Pheriche

Sunrise climb of Kala Patthar then a long descent.

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

Retrace the trail back below the treeline.

Day 12: Namche to Lukla

Final day on the trail through Sherpa villages.

Day 13: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu

Return flight and free afternoon in Thamel.

Day 14: Departure

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
